Description

The ThermoFisher Vanquish is another HPLC (high performance liquid chromatography) machine used in biology and chemistry labs across the world. These systems pass samples through chromatography columns that separate the sample into populations based on a variety of properties and then uses a laser to detect and quantify those populations.

Like the Agilent system I previously modeled, this system has:

• The pump (to move sample and buffers)

• The Autosampler (a tube rack with a robot arm and needle to inject the samples)

• The column component: where the magic (separation) happens

• DAD: or Diode Array Detector, this measures the material coming off the column, usually by detecting absorbance at a certain wavelength

• Tray: This holds buffer bottles and provides secondary containment in the event of spills or leaks

Each of these compartments have working doors and the sampler even has a rotating plate carousel! The models were separated into parts to minimize purge and maximize strength. This design choice is why the doors and interiors are printed separately. The modules are stacked on a base piece (from bottom to top): Pump, Sampler, DAD, and then the column compartment on the side. I've included a separate print profile with a taller base as some Vanquish Duo set-ups have a second detector.

I used a few different filament for this project:

Bambu Lab Silk PLA Silver

3DHOJOR Matte Gray (the steel blue finish)

Sunlu PLA Black

Elgoo PLA Neon Green

Bambu Lab Silk PLA Gold
