This raven skull book nook is built to drop between your books and add a bit of quiet gothic drama to the shelf without taking over the whole room.
The skull has those flowing “topo” style contours that show off layer lines in a really intentional way, so even a straightforward PLA print comes out looking like a piece of sculpted art. Pop it in a black frame for contrast, or flip the colours for a lighter, more natural look.
Printing notes (quick and reliable)
- Material: PLA works brilliantly
- Layer height: 0.28
- Walls: 2 or more
- Infill: 8% or more (more if you want extra heft)
- Tip: a matte bone/ivory filament really suits the organic texture
Assembly
The files are split: print the frame and skull separately, then test-fit. A tiny dab of superglue on the flat sections will secure it in place
