A custom insert designed to neatly store all components of Railways of the Lost Atlas with a minimal lid-lift. Every item has its place and setup becomes faster and smoother.
🔑 Key Features
✅ Quick Setup & Table-Ready: components are organized for fast setup, and trays can be used directly during gameplay.
✅ Sleeve-Friendly: most of the card slots accommodate sleeved cards (up to 60 microns).
✅ Minimal Lid Lift: the insert fits perfectly inside the box with a minimal lid-lift.
📦 What’s Inside
The insert includes 15 component trays for the track tiles, the map tiles, the wooden marker and tokens:
- 1 large tray for the major corporation tokens and the minor company tokens;
- 9 large trays for the hex track tiles, in different heights (3 trays with a 1-tile depth, 2 trays with a 2-tile depth, 3 trays with a 3-tile depth, and 1 tray with a 5-tile depth), designed to accommodate all the track tiles in a logical way (see details later), ready to be placed on the table and start playing;
- 4 tri-hex holders, designed to accommodate 9 tri-hex map tiles each. You can use one of them to store the 9 map tiles that must be removed in the short game;
- 1 vertical slim tray for the priority player marker;
For the small card management, the insert includes 5 dedicated trays:
- 1 small tray for the sleeved train cards and the sleeved phase cards;
- 2 medium trays for the sleeved certificate cards, one tray for the major corporation cards and one tray for the minor company cards;
- 2 large trays for the unsleeved money cards, one tray for the $1 and most of the $5 bills, and one tray for the remaining $5 bills, the $20, the $100, the $500, and the $2000.
For the big cards, the insert includes two options, depending on whether you want to sleeve some big cards or none:
- Option 1:
- 1 large card tray with three compartments for the 12 sleeved minor company cards, the 6 sleeved major corporation cards, and the 3 sleeved distant destination cards;
- 2 custom-shaped card trays for the unsleeved summary cards, the unsleeved player aid cards, and the unsleeved blank distant destination card. These trays also work as spacers for the stock track board.
- Option 2:
- 1 large card tray with three compartments to hold all 32 unsleeved cards.
1 optional spacer/cover to hold the round/cycle tracker board in place.
🧩 Organizing the Box
To fit all components correctly in the box, stack the nine hex trays on top of each other in the bottom part of the box and place the wooden tokens tray on top.
In the upper part of the box, place the large trays with the money cards, with the openings facing the box—one in the left corner and one in the right corner. In the center, place one medium tray with the certificate cards, then the vertical slim tray with the priority marker, and then the other medium tray with the certificate cards in the middle. The openings of the medium trays should face the priority marker.
Next, place the four tri-hex holders in two columns, facing each other, and then place the tray with the train cards in the space below the tri-hex holders. Place the chosen large card tray on top of that. Finally, place the bank pool board on top of the large card tray. If you have printed the optional spacer/cover, place it below the bank pool board with the round/cycle tracker board inside; otherwise, place the tracker board freely.
If you have chosen Option 1, place the two custom-shaped trays on top of everything with the remaining unsleeved cards. Then place the stock track board inside the spacer and the rulebook with its various sheets on top. If you have chosen Option 2, place the rulebook with its sheets first, and then the stock board on top.
A minimal lid lift is expected in any case. Sorry about that!
