Hi Helder,I’ve spent around 12–15 hours measuring prints from my BambuLab A1 Mini to check its accuracy, and I think I’ve identified the issue with your design.First of all, it’s a very smart design and I’d really like to use it and give you proper credit. However, the dimensions don’t seem to hold up after printing. When I design SkĆ„dis accessories, I want them to work both with the original IKEA pegboard and with alternative boards like your 160Ɨ160 model, but currently they don’t fit your version.Part of the problem is normal print tolerances, but I believe the main issue is that the hole height is slightly too small compared to the original IKEA design. It would help a lot if you could share the original .STEP file so I can adjust the hole size, or if you’d consider making a revised version. I’d be happy to test it for you.

Hi Helder, I think the design you made is really smart, but I’m running into a small issue. I printed your 160Ɨ160 pegboard, but the holes turn out slightly too narrow compared to IKEA’s original pegboard, where the holes are 5 mm wide and 15 mm high. I make my own hooks using the dimensions 4.94 Ɨ 14.46 mm. They are printed in PLA with a 0.4 mm nozzle and a layer height of 0.12 mm. When I test these hooks in an original IKEA pegboard, they fit perfectly. However, they do not fit in your 160Ɨ160 light design. Should the board be printed in a specific way or with certain settings, or are the dimensions perhaps right on the limit compared to IKEA’s specifications? Regards Ole

Hi, the holes are 5 mm wide and 15 mm high. But when printing it could have some differences. You could try changing the Order of walls from inner/outer to outer/inner  has this option can prevent the outer perimeter from being pushed outward by the infill.

Thanks for your fast reply — much appreciated. Sorry, I forgot to mention that I always switch the wall order from inner/outer to outer/inner to get a smoother surface and avoid the inner walls pushing the outer layer. Logically, if the holes are designed as 5 Ɨ 15 mm, they should actually end up slightly larger after printing due to material shrinkage — but that’s not what I’m seeing.

Hi Helder,Please let me know if you’re planning to update your design so that parts made for the original IKEA SkĆ„dis system are fully interchangeable. Alternatively, would you be willing to share the original .STEP file so I can make the necessary adjustments myself? If not, I may have to recreate your design with corrected dimensions to ensure compatibility. I’m using a lot of custom-made parts, and having to create multiple versions due to the hole size issue is quite time-consuming. Looking forward to hearing how you’d like to approach this. Best regards,Ole
