Intro
The X4 is an incredible device, with an even more incredible community that makes it better every day. That's why I wanted to contribute my part by designing some prototypes to compensate for the lack of front lighting, while keeping it as compact and minimalist as possible. In my search, I found components in the BambuLab store that could serve this purpose, without the need for soldering.
SnapLight for XTeink X4 is the result of that exploration - the snap-fit LED light attachment transforms your XTeink X4 into a complete nighttime reading companion, allowing you to spark your reading into the darkness.
The Challenge
The XTeink X4's ultra-compact size and lightweight design make it perfect for portability, but this comes at the cost of integrated front lighting - a feature common in larger eReaders. For nighttime reading enthusiasts, this limitation can be frustrating.
The Solution
SnapLight for XTeink X4 adds essential 4-LED illumination through a minimalist snap-fit design. Using readily available components from BambuLab's store and requiring no soldering, this project is accessible to anyone who wants to enhance their X4 reading experience.

How It Works
The SnapLight X4 consists of a top cover that snaps securely onto the upper edge of your XTeink X4. The integrated 4-LED array, with a dedicated diffuser, provides gentle downward illumination. All components connect via precision snap-fit joints - no tools, screws, or glue required.

Rechargeable Power Kit (ZC003) - Provides autonomy and usb-c port to recharge the battery
150mm ZH1.5 to SH1.0 Conversion Wire (XC007) - Connect LED Board to Power Kit
3D Printed Parts:
Top cover - Secure snap-fit attachment to the X4
LED Diffuser - Spreads the light evenly and reduces glare
Battery and Charger Covers - Maintains the components firm and secure
Internal cover - Secures the battery and charger board covers to the Top Cover

Recommended Settings (0.4mm nozzle):

Layer Height: 0.2mm
Infill: 10% Rectilinear
Supports: No
Brim: in LED Diffuser and Charger Board Cover only
Material: PETG recommended
Printing time: 1h45min.

Assembly Process
Follow the assembly steps in the attached guide for proper installation:

Installation
- Align the SnapLight cover with the top edge of your device
- Gently press until the snap-fit connection secures
- Power on the LED light
- Spark your reading into the darkness!
Removal
To remove the SnapLight, gently pull on one side of the top edge.
The snap-fit design allows for easy removal without damaging your X4.
NOTES:
This model was originally created using measurements taken from the Space Black X4 (5.9mm thickness, according to the manufacturer's specifications). It was subsequently adapted to add compatibility with the Frost White X4, as the material used on the back adds approximately 0.3mm of thickness.
Please be aware that this device is produced in batches, which may result in inconsistencies in external measurements, causing the fit to be very snug or not fit correctly.
All tolerances are based on specific, unique conditions. Humidity, material, temperature, etc. may vary the results under different conditions.
Perform small tolerance tests before finalizing the snap-fits.
