Description

Description:

Some toys never get old — they just get 3D printed.
This Magic Snake Cube Twist Puzzle is a modern remake of a classic childhood toy, redesigned in Fusion 360 and printed on a Bambu P1S. It consists of 24 articulated pieces that can be twisted into countless shapes: cubes, snakes, stairs, abstract forms — you name it.

The model is printed in two colors on separate build plates, which gives it a clean, graphic look, but also means final assembly is required. Don’t worry — it’s simple, just a bit precise. Proper tension is the key. No tension = no magic. Skeptical? You’ll see 😉

Assembly Instructions

⚠️ Important: Correct tension is critical. If the line is loose, the puzzle will not work properly.

Use 0.5 mm fishing line. Fold it in half.

Start threading the folded line through the first piece. STEP 1

Continue threading through each piece in sequence.

Make sure the protrusions of one piece align with the grooves of the next. STEP 2

Repeat until you reach the final piece.

In the last piece, pass each end of the line into its own hole.

Pull the line as tight as possible.

Tie 3 strong knots. STEP 1

👉 If the tension is still not enough:

Pull the line again, STEP 2

Insert a toothpick into the hole to lock the tension,

Carefully trim it with a scalpel,

Secure it with super glue. STEP 3

Cut off any excess fishing line.

Once the shape holds firmly and moves correctly, glue the cover plates to close the holes.

Done. Twist away.

Extra

This puzzle has tons of possible configurations. There are many guides online showing different shapes you can build. It’s half puzzle, half fidget, half time machine back to childhood (yes, that’s three halves).

Have fun — and welcome back to being a kid, just with better tools.
