Description

This project exists for one simple reason:
I kept losing my filament cutters and deburring tool.

With no free space on the sides of the printer, the front door turned out to be the perfect solution.
Instead of digging through drawers mid-print, this front-mounted SKÅDIS panel keeps your most-used tools visible, organized, and always within reach.

What it is

A front-mounted, IKEA SKÅDIS–compatible organizer panel designed specifically for the Bambu Lab P1S. Thanks to the great cooperation with @Nootes and @Pract, we were able to confirm compatibility with the X1C and create a new model dedicated to the P2S.

The model combines:

  • Decorative hinge screw covers
  • A SKÅDIS-style perforated panel (3-slot wide)

It mounts directly to the existing door hinge screws, making the installation clean, reversible, and completely non-invasive.

Height variants included

To match different needs and setups, the model is available in few versions:

For P1S/X1C:

  • FULL SKÅDIS – maximum SKÅDIS area for multiple tools and accessories
  • SEMI - half SKÅDIS half Solid
  • Half – balanced size for everyday essentials
  • Short – compact version for minimal or lightweight setups

For P2S:

  • FULL SKÅDIS P2S - maximum SKÅDIS area for multiple tools and accessories for P2S
  • Half – balanced size for everyday essentials
  • Short – compact version for minimal or lightweight setups

Community-first IKEA SKÅDIS compatibility

The panel is fully compatible with IKEA SKÅDIS accessories, which means you are not limited to a closed system.

You can freely use and print:

  • hooks
  • clips
  • tool holders
  • organizers

created by other makers in the community.

This model is designed as a perfect base for community-driven extensions — mix, match, and expand as needed.

Optional magnetic support

Behind each hinge screw cover there is a dedicated slot for magnets, improving grip and overall stability.

  • 2 magnets per screw cover
  • Up to 4 magnets total
  • Supports round magnets up to 10×3 mm
  • Smaller magnets also work well

Magnets are optional — the panel remains stable even without them.

Printer compatibility

  • Bambu Lab P1S (designed and tested)
  • Bambu Lab X1C - tested and confirmed by @Nootes
  • Bambu Lab P2S - tested and confirmed by @PracticalBullDog333

H2D owners are welcome to test and share feedback to help confirm compatibility for the community. Anyone who confirms compatibility with a photo will be credited in the project description with a link to their profile.

🛠️Before You Start Printing

Before printing, give the bed a quick clean 🧽 — good adhesion = better first layer and accurate geometry.

Use dry filament (wet filament loves to pop, string, and ruin dimensions).

When using my MakerWorld profiles, make sure the selected material matches what you’re actually printing. Different materials shrink and behave differently — the wrong profile can mean wrong dimensions.

Also, my STL files are designed and dimensioned for PLA. If you print them in PETG, you may need to slightly rescale the model to compensate for different shrinkage.

Clean bed. Dry filament. Correct material. Done 😄

I thought I'd give this print a try despite it not being for the P2S, but since the creator asked if someone could try it, I did it anyways. Turns out to be a little short (as expected), but only by about 9mm. If someone would like me to test a P2S revised version, I can. Will also note that the connection point hanging on the studs of the hinges are press-fit very well, so another props to that there. Conclusion: Not made for the P2S, but still good regardless for first impressions. Nice work!

Thanks a lot for the tests and for providing the correct dimensions for P2S. I think the project is interesting enough to be worth spending some time on. In a few hours, I’ll send you a test model for P2S in a private message.

Do you think this is really necessary? It seems to me that increasing the length of two segments by 4.5 mm each should solve the problem. I’m saying this based on what you mentioned — that the hinge screw mounts are holding well. Of course, I’ll also need to shift the perforations so they match the standard, so I’ll need a little time to do that. Thank you very much — I really appreciate your test.

Have seen some comments saying issues with P1S I can state it works perfectly. Use the magnet inserts to secure it fully. Awesome design and thank you for the creation!

The idea is great. thanks. Hopefully it stays a tight press to the door. I think a modified version using the screws would be great as well. Pins. I should have brimmed. fired it off and left house. they didn’t stick to bed I noticed early but let it ride and it didn’t alert me till 83%. then at 92% told it to skip them. I let it ride cause the main parts looked fine. printed the pins separate on A1mini after I got back home.

On which printer did you test the model? What exactly is too loose? With so many comments, I haven't encountered any issues yet.

Replying to @Tikom :
p1s (for the p1s) wanted to disconnect it (i.e. attach it) and it immediately felt too "loose". had it on for 24 hours, then it just fell off. all in all a really great idea, but unfortunately it didn't have any hold.

Other users, including myself, haven’t experienced these issues. Did you use the PLA filament recommended in the profile? If so, did you calibrate the printer — it’s possible that it isn’t maintaining the parameters correctly due to mechanical play. I designed the model with space for magnets, which is also noted in the description. My organizer has held just as firmly since I designed and printed it, even without magnets
