Description

This 3D-printable sun hood (glare shield) was designed specifically for the Garmin ECHOMAP 92sv, 93sv, and 94sv chartplotter models.

It helps reduce screen reflections and improves display readability in bright sunlight, making it especially useful in marine environments.

The design does not require any support structures, making printing easier and reducing post-processing time.

For best durability and heat resistance, PETG or stronger materials are strongly recommended.

This sun hood was created at the request of another user. Please note that the final fit must be verified by the user, as I do not own a Garmin ECHOMAP 92sv, 93sv, or 94sv and therefore could not physically test the installation or exact fit.

Important notes:

No supports required

Recommended materials: PETG, ASA, ABS, or other durable filaments

Mounting fit has not been physically tested

Specifically designed for Garmin ECHOMAP 92sv / 93sv / 94sv

Mounted it on my echomap 95 sv and it works almost perfectly except the bottom is a bit too wide and I can’t tilt my Garmin flush, I have to tilt it up a bit some it doesn’t hit my mount..is there a way to cut the bottom width by 2/3 to 3/4 of its original?

Here is an example of one I see out there that people sell …it’s lower half is significantly thinner. I love your print but it’s a bit wide on the lower part and I have to tilt my garmin back a bit..it won’t with straight on flush up and down (12 and 6) without the bottom the visor hitting my mount behind and the bottom …not the end of the world as I just have to tilt it back 15degrees or so ( 11-5oclock) but just curious if u had a thinner version

the mounting hole doesn’t line up, however that’s because Garmin made changes to their 93 and 94SV. it can be resolved with drill new holes, or use double sided tape. Another thing is the shield is a little too big, it might interfere for using on peddle kayak, like your knee might hit it.

thats an awesome Feedback! thank you! just the drillholes or also the cutout? are you able to send me a template for the drillholes or the measurements that need to be added? what do you mean with "too big" the size in depth or width, or the bottom part?

i roughly measured the holes on this echomap uhd 94SV is at 191mm. (my caliper is out of battery so I printed one). the sunshade itself can be reduced 9mm from either side, that would be ideal.

I also just find out I have an echomap plus 94SV, and this file is for echomap uhd 94SV. so the design is perfect while it can be a little narrow to be used on something like hobie outback. overall solid design.

Solid print. Thanks for putting this model together! I printed in PETG-CF, added an extra outer wall for a bit of extra durability since I tend to be hard on stuff. I saw a question about mounting from another user. The holes do line up with the 4 holes in the Garmin, but you will need to use a flat pry tool to pop off the top/bottom covers on the front. I used M3x16 button head screws with an M3 washer and M3 nut on backside of the print to secure it. Once assembled, snap the little covers back onto the front to cover the screw heads and then the Garmin cover is easy to put on and remove as needed.

wow, what great feedback and a top description! Thank you very much for this useful contribution! Do I understand correctly that no improvement is necessary from the construction side or do you have points that need to be improved? Thank you in advance! 👍

Thank you for the time and care that went into designing! I am going to test this on the lake tomorrow, but it feels very sturdy as is. The only thing I might do is make the holes slightly larger to accommodate an M4 size screw instead because the holes in the Garmin test fit with a screw/bolt that size and aside from being just slightly sturdier, it would eliminate some of the "play" the M3's leave. I'll just drill the holes slightly larger in the print to make it work. From my side of it, I think I will probably swap for nylon lock nuts too to help reduce chances of the bolt coming loose. Adding 2 additional photos here that show this sunshield works with the Garmin provided mount as well. Again, excellent job, and my appreciation for your time and skills!

nice print overall, will fit my 93sv with some slight screw adjustments. was wondering what the premade 4 holes are on the backside because they do not line up on mine? I do see 4 holes on the back of my unit that don’t have screws but have not investigated to see if they are. was that the intention for mounting? if so I’ll just need to drill them out and find the right hardware. thanks for the time you spent on the file. please let me know and maybe update the description on how to mount

thanks for your Feedback! the four holes on the backside of your device are ment for screws to mount it. if you check the flushmount template you will find These exact holes. i used the template to define the mounting Position. please let me know if you See any difference in the Position! would you be so kind and send a picture of the printed shade Laying on the backside of your device? the holeposition should Match!

very good fit I initially thought it was too big and the 9" looked a bit lost in it, but it works great and you can put on and remove the screen protector without any problems Thanks for the model

but can the original Garmin mount be kept with the adjustment knobs and the "horns" or is it only suitable if mounted directly on the dashboard
