Description

The 1990 Acura NSX revolutionized the exotic car market by offering a unique blend of high performance and everyday usability, qualities virtually unheard of in supercars of its era, like those from Ferrari or Lamborghini

. Marketed in North America as an Acura and elsewhere as a Honda, the NSX (which stands for "New Sports eXperimental") was the first mass-produced car to feature an all-aluminum monocoque chassis and body, making it exceptionally lightweight and rigid. Its mid-mounted, 3.0-liter DOHC V6 engine was equipped with Honda's innovative VTEC™ (Variable Valve Timing and Lift Electronic Control) system, delivering an impressive 270 horsepower and an 8000 RPM redline while remaining reliably docile in daily driving. With design input from the legendary Formula One driver Ayrton Senna, the NSX achieved a "ballerina"-like agility and handling precision that set a new global standard for sports cars, proving that world-class performance didn't require the traditional compromises of temperamental maintenance.
