Description

You know how, in the sagas, Odin hurls Gungnir and the spear always hits its mark, as if it had some kind of built‑in divine GPS? Well, this replica won’t turn you into a Norse god… but it will make you feel like someone who could shout “FOR ASGARD!” without looking like they just escaped from a costume party.

It’s a scenic piece, elegant, mythological in all the right ways, and perfect for anyone who wants to bring a touch of Valhalla into their 3D‑printing workshop.

This Gungnir replica, standing just over 1 meter tall, weighs a bit more than 200 grams (255 g of filament total, because physics is rude), and was crafted with the precision of a slightly drunk but brilliant dwarf:

  • Designed in: Autodesk 123D
  • Refined / Aged in: Meshmixer
  • Final touches & runic magic: Slicer
  • Epic inscription (3MF only): “Djarfleiki Odinn, sigur Gungnir” Translation: “Courage is Odin, victory is Gungnir.” Alternative translation: “If the spear misses, that’s on you.”

To make the assembly worthy of a Dwarven craftsman (without having to summon Brokkr and Sindri), each segment of the spear connects through male–female hexagonal joints. These interlocks ensure precise alignment, solid stability, and—most importantly—protect you from the classic “assembled slightly crooked at 2 a.m.” disaster. Everything snaps together with a clean, satisfying motion, and the spear takes shape as if it had been forged in Asgard itself.

The inscription should be printed in translucent teal PLA (Bambulab 13162 – Teal Translucent, because Odin has taste).

The current photo is temporary, in fact the original print didn’t include the runic inscription, because the idea to add it came later. The inscription exists only in the updated 3MF file, not in the original STL. Once I print the updated version, with the translucent teal runes shining like Odin’s personal neon sign, I’ll replace the current photo with a proper picture of the final, fully featured model.

Print Specifications (a.k.a. the part only real makers read)

  • Model height: ~100 cm (scalable as you wish… if your print bed allows it)
  • Print tech: FDM or Resin
  • Recommended material:
    • Bambulab Silk+ Gold PLA (for the “I’m a god, look at me shine” effect)
    • Bambulab Teal Translucent PLA (for the runic glow-up)
  • Supports: Only in critical areas
  • Total filament: ~255 g
  • Final weight: a bit over 200 g
  • Print time: ~24 hours (or 24.5 if your printer decides to meditate)
  • Cold plate: Recommended (Odin likes it cold, and so should you)

Now go print Gungnir… and remember: if the spear doesn’t fly back into your hand, that’s not a bug. You’re just not Odin.
