Description

"Do you want to date my avatar?"

Bring a piece of internet history to life with this 1:1 scale replica of Codex’s iconic staff from The Guild. Wielded by Felicia Day herself, this staff has been meticulously hand-designed from the ground up to be the most accurate and printable version available.

Standing at a commanding 158.5 cm (62.5 inches), this isn't just a prop—it’s a feat of 3D engineering.

Engineering & Assembly

I have designed this staff in 12 interlocking parts to ensure it fits on standard build plates while maintaining structural integrity. To give you the best making experience, I’ve included two distinct assembly methods:

  1. The Threaded Version: Precision-engineered screw-in joints. Perfect for travel/cons, as it can be disassembled and reassembled without tools or glue.
  2. The Peg Version: Uses alignment pins for a permanent, seamless bond. Ideal for dedicated cosplayers who want a rock-solid, glued finish.

Print Optimized for Bambu Lab

This model was developed and rigorously tested on the Bambu Lab X1C using PLA. I am providing the pre-configured .3mf files to make your printing process as seamless as possible.

Technical Specifications

  • Total Height: 158.5 cm / 62.5 inches
  • Parts: 12 modular segments
  • Material Used: PLA (Tested on X1C)
  • Included Files: STL library + Bambu Studio .3mf files

Assembly Guide: The Path of Codex

Follow this order of operations to assemble your 158.5 cm staff. This design is modular; if you find the full height too tall, you can remove any one of the middle sections (Bottom 1, 2, or 3) to shorten the staff by approximately 15-20 cm without losing the iconic look.

StepPart NameConnects To...
1Bottom GemConnects into the Bottom End
2Bottom EndConnects to Bottom 1
3Bottom 1Connects to Bottom 2
4Bottom 2Connects to Bottom 3 (or skip to Handle to shorten)
5Bottom 3Connects to the base of the Handle
6Top 2Connects to the top of the Handle
7Top 1Connects onto Top 2
8The WingsSlot into the sides of Top 1
9The SphereConnects to the very top of Top 1

Assembly & Printing Tips:

  • Customizable Height: Because the joints are standardized, you can omit a "Bottom" segment for a shorter, more maneuverable staff—perfect for younger cosplayers or tight convention hallways.
  • The Sphere (Important): To save filament and keep the staff from being top-heavy, I have optimized the Sphere to be printed at 8% infill.
  • The Wings: For the best finish, I recommend sliding the Wings into Top 1 before attaching the Sphere.
  • Threaded vs. Pegged: * Threaded: Ensure your printer is well-calibrated for tolerances. A light sanding or a dab of lubricant on the threads makes assembly effortless.
    • Pegged: Dry-fit all 12 parts before applying glue to ensure perfect alignment.
