Sensus 620 Sensor Holder
Print Profile(1)

Description
A simple holder for an NPN proximity sensor to read a Sensus 620 water meter.
Optimal for tracking water consumption in a smart home.
The sensor used is an LJ18A3-8-Z/BX NPN NO, which has an M18 thread.
With the help of the supplied nuts, the distance to the switching contact on the water meter can be optimally adjusted, and the sensor can be perfectly secured in the holder.
I use the following equipment for my setup:
- LJ18A3-8-Z/BX NPN NO (https://amzn.eu/d/6ckq70Y)
- Shelly Plus 1 with script function (https://amzn.eu/d/7yD06fI)
- 12V power supply (https://amzn.eu/d/2GNxMFQ)
Per script, for each switching operation (High → Low), a counter is always incremented by 0.001m3.
The data status is saved via KVS on the Shelly and can be easily transferred to, for example, Home Assistant using MQTT.
There, the entity is directly recognized and can be integrated into, for example, the energy dashboard.
The script I used for the Shelly Plus 1 is also attached under documentation.
