Permanent Magnet 2 phase AC Generator
Print Profile(1)

Description
This is a two phase permanent magnet generator. It works very similar to the way an alternator works in a car. It generates ~20 volts AC power at ~1000 RPM with 14.8 ohms resistance per phase (3.7 ohms per coil with 8 coils, 4 per phase). I used 32 N52 neodymium magnets arranged in Halbach array with each magnet being .125''x.25''x1'' with two stacked on top of each other for each slot. It is sealed with TPU rubber gaskets on each side so it should be relatively water resistant. The Magnetic shielding part (printed in blue around the core) is filled with thin strips of ferromagnetic steel to prevent magnetic leakage. I used heat inserts in some places but it is not necessary for use.
