Vase with deco covers

I originally designed this vase for my wife, as she has brick flowers and I wanted to create a matching brick vase. Since round shapes don't print optimally in a vertical orientation, I came up with the idea of developing a vase where the brick covers are printed horizontally and then attached to the vase.

Because these cover variations are also excellent for other designs, I designed additional covers that, with the right color combination, really make a statement.

Since a relatively large or tall model can quickly waste a lot of filament, I designed the vase to achieve very high print quality and eliminate the need for infill altogether.

Summary

  • Modular vase, originally designed for brick  flowers
  • Covers are printed horizontally and then attached to the vase → improved print quality
  • Optimized design for high quality without infill (material savings)
  • Various interchangeable cover designs for individual color and style combinations
  • Vase is 160 mm tall
  • Covers can be attached with superglue or thin, strong double-sided tape
  • Recommendation: Print with PLA (tested and proven)

Assembly

All covers – except for the brick design – are mounted with the side that was on the print bed facing outwards. This way, the more attractive side is displayed.

The covers can be attached either with superglue or, alternatively, with very thin, strong double-sided tape.

Note

Since I have performed many test prints with PLA, I also recommend printing with PLA.

I'm really looking forward to your feedback on this model and am curious to see how creative you are with the color and cover combinations.
