Description

This gear fidget uses cross axis helical gears to achieve a mesmerizing effect. The gears mesh together perfectly, despite being on completely different axies. Mounting plates were carefully engineered to snap together perfectly, giving the gears a stable axis to rotate around. I am proud of the snap fit joints in this model; they were carefully prototyped until I felt that the fit and snap were absolutely perfected. Print profiles are included for different ways to print this fidget. You can print it in a single color, in multiple colors with AMS, or in multiple colors with different plates. This is a great toy for anyone who benefits from fidgeting or is interested in different types of gears.

Printing Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Print Bed
    • Clean the print bed thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol to ensure proper adhesion.
    • Additional adhesive for the print bed is highly recommended! I suggest using 3D-Lac spray or a glue stick.
       
  2. Download the Print Profile
    • Send the pre-configured print profile to your Bambu Lab printer through the Bambu Handy app or Download and open the pre-configured print profile in Bambu Studio.
       
  3. Select Your Printing Options
    • Choose your filament type and color.
    • Select your print bed type (e.g., textured or smooth).
    • Confirm your printer settings, ideally for a Bambu Lab printer.
       
  4. Start Printing
    • Begin the print job. No supports are necessary.
