⚠️ Important note on print quality

I wish to emphasize that the final print quality can be significantly influenced by the filament used. I have found that filaments from different brands can have properties (such as rigidity, moisture absorption, and impact resilience) that affect the result, especially in support management. Therefore, the success and cleanliness of the print depend not only on the profile but also on the quality and specific characteristics of your PLA.

In case of problems such as the extruder touching or breaking supports, I strongly suggest performing a printer calibration. Often, accurate calibration can solve many inconveniences and drastically improve the final quality.

🎨 The Design

The saga continues! To complete the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series, I took the utmost care in designing their archenemy: Shredder.

To maximize the printing experience and ensure the best quality, I designed this model in pieces. This strategic choice allows anyone to achieve a clean, detailed, and multicolor print without the need for an AMS system. I used a pentagonal joint for each component, providing a precise seat for alignment and subsequent gluing.

This approach not only makes the project accessible to everyone but also optimizes print times and reduces filament waste.

🛠️ Printing and Materials

Separate Parts: The body, armor, cape, sword, and base are separated for more efficient printing. It is recommended to assemble the parts with a bit of glue once completed.

Tolerances and Joints: The project has been tested with a specific brand of filament. Since each material has its own thermal and shrinkage tolerance, the joints may vary. Specifically for the blades that fit into the arm, if they are too tight or too loose, simply "play" slightly with the scaling of the piece in the slicer and reprint them to get the perfect fit.

Supports: I have optimized the model to minimize the use of supports. Be careful during removal not to damage the details.⚠️

Recommended filaments: * 🛡️ Armor: PLA Silk Silver

Body and Sword: PLA Matte Black

Cape: PLA Silk Purple/Blue

Ground: PLA Marble White

🚀 My Work
With this project, I feel I have raised my level, and I hope you appreciate the effort. If you like this new approach, I might revisit previous models to give them the same added value.
