Description

Complete set of the A–Z alphabet plus numbers 0–9, each on a square tile 45×45 mm and 10 mm thick. Tiles feature rounded edges and no sharp corners for child safety, and each character is presented in raised relief so children can trace and feel the shape. The files are prepared for printing in PLA without supports and for easy color-coding: one color for vowels, another for consonants, and a third for numbers.

Key Features

  • Size: 45×45 mm; thickness: 10 mm.
  • Safety: fully rounded edges, no sharp corners.
  • Tactile learning: raised letters and numbers for tracing with fingers.
  • Color system: suggested color groups for vowels, consonants and numbers.
  • Print-ready: optimized geometry for PLA printing without supports.
  • Files: ready to drop into your usual slicer and print workflow.

I include two print profiles: one for printers with AMS that handles the three colors in a single job, and another for printers without AMS that inserts an automatic pause to change filament and print by color.

  • AMS profile: multi‑material print in a single job.
  • Non‑AMS profile (pause): print with an automatic pause for manual filament change.

Why it works with Montessori principles

These tiles combine sensory exploration, visual categorization, and hands-on manipulation—core elements of Montessori learning. Tracing raised characters builds muscle memory and pre-writing skills; color grouping helps with classification and phonetic awareness; physical handling strengthens retention and encourages independent play and discovery.

Practical notes

  • Great for free play, guided phonics exercises, and early spelling games.
  • Print in different colors to create distinct learning sets.
  • Durable design intended for daily handling by small hands.
  • Scale can be adjusted if you prefer larger or smaller tiles.

Personal note

I’ve used these tiles at home: my daughter learned her letters with this set, and my younger son is learning now. They work well because kids can touch, see, and play with the letters as they learn.
