Description
This project is a modular desk toy inspired by the geometry of a sphericon, redesigned as a 9-faced, permutable object.
Each segment is held together using embedded magnets (9 per side, 5 mm diameter × 2 mm thickness) and a central 3D-printed pin, allowing the sphericon to be easily rotated into multiple configurations. The result is a tactile and visually engaging object that encourages exploration, manipulation, and experimentation.
In some configuration the object preserves the characteristic rolling behavior of a sphericon, while featuring a unique faceted appearance and providing satisfying magnetic feedback during interaction.
Designed as a desk toy / kinetic object, it is ideal for relaxation, focus, or simply as a geometric conversation piece.
