🏹 Whispers of the Hood - No. 14: The Aim

Some walk the road. Some guard the gate. She chooses the moment.

This is The Aim, fourteenth figure in the Whispers of the Hood series. Hood low, stance wide, she draws her bow with calm precision... not hurried, not angry, just certain.

No speeches. No warnings. Only focus.

Print profile

  • Two sizes included: Medium (red) + Large (green)
    • Medium matches the scale of the other Whispers of the Hood figures for collectors
  • Split parts included for easy multicolor printing
  • Suit and base
    • 0.16 layer, 2 walls, 5% infill
  • Other parts
    • 0.12 layer, 3 walls, 20% infill
  • Snap-fit pegs are designed to click in place, but minor trimming or a touch of glue may help
  • Parts are oriented so most supports land inside connection areas ... clean them thoroughly for the best fit
  • Small parts (especially bow strings) may fit tight or be slightly long ... trim as needed
  • Assembly hint: build hands + bow + strings + arrow first, then attach the hands to the body

Plates

Key Printing Tips:

  • Disable “Strength → Detect Thin Wall” → gives smoother, cleaner surfaces on detailed parts.
  • Always check the slicing preview in Bambu Studio before starting the print.
  • Support removal trick: Cut supports into small chunks first, then gently loosen → they usually pop off cleanly without damage.
  • Some plates use lots of supports, if so → for reliable prints use these filament settings:
    • Filament Overrides
      • Z Hop When Retract: 0.6 mm
      • Z Hop Type: Spiral
      • Travel Distance Threshold: 1 mm
      • ✅ Enable Retract When Changing Layer
    • Also, disable these settings in Bambu Studio if Variable Layer height is used:
      • Supports
        • Disable Independent Support Layer Height
      • Others
        • Disable Reduce Infill Retraction
      • I’ve found that a 0.15 mm top Z distance works best when printing with variable layer height.

Happy printing! Can't wait to see photos of your prints! If you're scaling, experimenting or encounter any issues, let me know → your input helps the next iteration. Please share your feedback for any rating below ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ so we can work on improving, thank you!

very beautiful print many thanks to the Creator I have several models from the whispering hoods series I guess you would call it that I'm going to be printing as well as printed one or two others unfortunately I couldn't give ratings on them because I had done them in other printer & it's not a bambu unfortunately I wish they would allow us to give ratings even if we don't use their printer but I'll reach out to the Creator via messaging & send him photos to see what he thinks, she came out quite beautiful I did in a Deeplee red & used gold Silk for arrow, skin pla for the feet hands & face I took little liberties with the base & I added some little plants and whatnot I sometimes save supports because they look so much like trees LOL so I made a little combination of it and then I painted the base it was black but I decided to give it more Earth Tone so I added some Browns, grays, green since she's out in the woods in the dirt hope everybody enjoys hope at least it's good 😉

Thanks for the awesome feedback! Appreciate you sharing the pics, she looks ready to hunt in the forest! Love the creative liberty on the supports and painting... always fun to tweak for the scene. Keep printing those beauties! 🏹
