Recorded in the Daoist Canon as "The Supreme Secret Method's House-Guarding Spiritual Talismans" this set of spiritual talismans served as the house-guarding treasure for the Hall of Supreme Harmony in the Imperial Forbidden City They can be freely combined and varied according to the annual changes of the passing years In Xuanmen they can also be used for divination channeling cultivation invoking deities bringing blessings warding off disasters extending longevity and curing illnesses among other uses
