Print Profile(1)

Description
This 3D-printed riser and rail repair is designed to restore receptacle mounting support on older outdoor weatherproof gang boxes where the original top/bottom device rails have rusted or broken. It also adds extra device depth to improve wire clearance and reduce crowding behind duplex or GFCI receptacles, while also providing a clean extension surface for many in-use weatherproof covers.
The model supports two print and install approaches. The one-piece version prints as a single sleeve for better weather resistance and a simpler seal. The splited 3-peices version prints as three parts—a top section, a bottom rail bracer, and a vertica bracer to secure the top and bottom parts together—for easier installation when conduit fittings are difficult to manage. )* when printed as one piece, the brace is not required.)
For outdoor durability, ASA is recommended; PETG is also suitable, while PLA is not recommended for sun/heat exposure.
This model is also customizable. All parameters below are defined by the size of the original gang box (this model is based on). Changing them will scale or reshape the model while keeping the same overall design.
- H_box — The overall height of the original box (bottom → top). Adjusting this makes the model taller/shorter.
- W_box — The overall width of the original box (left → right). Adjusting this makes the model wider/narrower.
- D_box — The overall depth of the original box (front → back). Adjusting this makes the model deeper/shallower.
- w_taper_offset — How much the original box’s sidewalls taper inward in the width direction as the walls go from front to back. 0 = straight walls.
- h_taper_offset — How much the original box tapers inward from front to back in height. 0 = no taper.
