CBC NORTH – BREAKING REPORT

JackaNope Emperor Issues Ultimatum to Canada and the United States
By: Staff Reporter, CBC Yellowknife

Yellowknife, NWT — What began as a government-sanctioned biotechnological initiative has evolved into one of the most bizarre territorial crises in Canadian history.

The hybrid creatures, officially designated Lepus Alces Imperialis but nicknamed “JackaNopes,” were originally developed by LaMerk Sciences Child Immunizations and Bioweapons Development Division as a cost-effective border defense solution. Bred from jackrabbits and Alaska-Yukon bull moose DNA, the animals were selected for extreme territorial aggression, high intelligence, and the ability to sprint at 96.5606 km/h.

The Canadian government purchased an initial batch of 6 animals for deployment along remote northern checkpoints. Officials expected them to deter smugglers, illegal hunters, and the occasional wandering American.

What they did not expect was the breeding.

Four years later, an estimated 22 million JackaNopes now occupy most of the Northwest Territories, have forcibly displaced human settlements, and — according to several verified eyewitnesses — established a monarchical government.

The crowned leader, known only as Emperor Swift-Antler, has issued a recorded message through hacked radio frequencies:

“Kneel, or hop aside. This land is ours by right of fang, hoof, and fertile supremacy.”

The Emperor’s council claims they are willing to “entertain diplomatic submission” from both Canada and the United States rather than resort to what they refer to as “Moose-Earred Conquest.”

UN wildlife negotiators remain baffled.

The U.S. State Department has declined to comment.

Canada is reportedly considering bending the knee.
