Boost Me (for free)
If you like my 3D model, feel free to boost me.
This will help me buy more filament and work on new 3D models and remix.
Tired of having the glovebox in our Porsche 944 Turbo drop every time we opened it due to broken hinges, I wanted to find a proper solution.
I first looked at an option from an online reseller, but the price felt excessive for such a simple part. That pushed me to explore 3D-printed alternatives.
I tried the model made by 2bad2die on Thingiverse, but the fitment wasn't ideal, so I decided to improve it and create my remix.
Compared to the original model:
- The corner end (the part that guides the hinge along the track) is slightly longer to prevent it from derailing.
- The base end (the section that locks into the glovebox door) is taller and wider to ensure a secure fit.
- Print strength has been increase through the print profile. I highly recommend printing it in PETG at minimum.
Reuploaded this remix because MakerWorld did not let me remove the original STL (clearly flagged as original with credits to the owner), which was the reason why the model went down. To get the model back up, the only STL available is the improved version. If you want to check the original one, go on Thingiverse.
