Description

Introducing: Fully customisable Tough rugged box

Main features

Fully customisable and parametric box. Adjust all dimensions to your needs. Add custom inserts and finish up with TPU gaskets to ensure contents is safre from dust. No tools or additional elements needed. Every element clicks-in.

Dimensions

Provided print profiles and available customisation option allows to specify inner dimensions of the bottom of the box. Note that external dimensions are bigger due to the box shape. Additionally the lid is roughly 12mm high.

Customisation of the box

  • width, depth and height - those are INNER dimensions of the box. Outside dimensions are bigger. Please make sure it fits your build plate.

Customisation of the inserts

  • width and depth - please note that you should enter the box/container dimensions. The model will be slightly smaller (1mm) to easily fit in. If you need tight fit play with the parameters.
  • height - adjust to your liking
  • vertical and horizontal slots - from 1 to 10 both horizontal and vertical
  • wall size - if you need something stronger go ahead
  • Inserts are stackable - take the total height of available space and print inserts that split the space by half or any other way.

Gaskets

Each model will include two gaskets to ensure the amount of dust going in is limited. Boxes are not watertight

You can adjust the height of the gaskets (one of them) by 0.5mm if you want to ensure better seal -or- for example lower the top one and make the bottom one higher.

Tips on printing and assembly

  • ensure proper part orientation - especially for locks and the lid. See attached print profiles for recommended orientation.
  • locks are angled in a way to avoid accidental opening
  • I printed the boxes with PLA and PETG. PETG will be more durable and impact resistant. Gaskets need to be printed in TPU although it's a relatively quick print even for big boxes.
  • when putting the bottom and the lid together some force is required - especially for the hinge. Use this points for easier slide in.
