New, find the motorized flatbed with ramps to replace the tank

Boost Me (for free)

This project represents a considerable number of work hours, a boost is always motivating (and free)😊

🛠️ Project Overview

After several years of testing - and many failures - my model is finally ready

The initial objective was twofold

  • Maximize the number of 3D Printed parts
  • while maintaining a robust and reliable model for use

🔧 Design Evolution

First versions

The first drafts featured 3D Printed leaf springs.
Their performance was very satisfactory during initial outings, but these springs proved fragile: frequent breakages and deformations required regular replacements.

👉 For this reason, the project evolved towards a more durable 4-link suspension.

Transmission

The first models were equipped with locked differentials (corresponding axles are available on my MakerWorld page).
However, this configuration put significant strain on the mechanics, causing breakages and severely limiting the steering angle.

👉 The choice therefore fell on open differentials

  • first, small-sized, adapted to thinner axles,
  • then finally 1/10 standard differentials, offering a better compromise between robustness and reliability.
  • The complete axles are available here

🚛 Design

The cabin is largely inspired by Russian Ural trucks, with a deliberately raw and functional aesthetic.

📦 Required Hardware (excluding 3D Printed parts)

Here is the list of components to provide in addition to the parts to be printed

  • 1x Injora transfer case
  • 1x Injora or Lesu type planetary gearbox
  • 1x 540 - 21T motor or similar
  • 1x ESC suitable for the motor (used here: Hobbywing 1080)
  • 1x 2S or 3S battery
  • 2x standard servos, 20 kg minimum
  • 1x Y-cable for servo
  • 8x8 axles (available here)
  • 4 driveshafts or print these
  • 8x 90mm shock absorbers
  • M3 screws
  • 8x 1.9" – Ø ~120 mm tires

The provided instructions are quite basic but should largely help in understanding the assembly

Subsequently, I will surely provide other modules for the rear besides the tank
