This is a umbrella yarn swift.

You print all pieces and you need to assemble with rope like a wood umbrella yarn swift.

Great model. I made one in light pink. I figured out the hard way that you have to print 24 of the umbrella leg pieces. I had to keep looking at the photo to figure out how to put it together as it has no instructions. I am happy overall with the print. Thank you for a beautiful print.

very well designed! I scaled this down very small for a miniature display. Needed a bit of tweaking, took me an hour to put it together, but so great!

I made a slight modification. I printed 6 extra "arms" and extended the downward facing ones. This stops the hank of yarn from slipping off the bottom of the umbrella. Brilliant idea to make one of these, many thanks for sharing it here.

Thank you. It is a learning process I guess.

So I just finished printing it and putting it together and I'm confused as to how its supposed to work. I see swifts online that spin to unwind the hank and this one sits still. Did I do something wrong or is this a different style swift?

When you put up or down the bottom support, the swift extend and bloc the wool in it.

I really like it 🤩 I replaced the printed rod with a wooden one… I joined the connecting parts using snaps for clothing and a cord, though I also thought that jewelry jump rings could work instead of the cord… Thank you ❤️

The one part had the worst supports. It was almost impossible to get them off. Other than that, it works fantastically!

Please explain what this yellow cylinder is and why when I print this item with the yellow cylinder in place there appears to be a circular slit where the perimeter of the yellow cylinder intersects with the white object. In other words, the outside breaks away from the inside. If I delete the yellow cylinder will the slit go away? If there is a purpose to the slit please let me know what it is.

Sorry, I am stuck. Any assembly and usage instructions would be appreciated. How should this thing rotate? If I screw in the screws it is fixed and cannot rotate.

The rotation is where the pole is plugged in the base.

Thanks for the answer, that explains at least how it can work. But why is there a screw in the base (from the side)?

The screw on the base I not important, essentially help to lock the pole the time you prepare the wool.
