DESCRIPTION

My collection of 4mm screwdriver bits seems to grow with time.  Some come with a holder, others are just in containers.  I have visions of creating a holder and labelling them, but the bits are relatively small, so unsure whether that is practical.  In the meantime, I needed a holder.

 

My holder design had to find a balance between stacking density and my fingers being able to grip the bit to remove or insert it into the stand.  My design relies on flexible TPU and restricts the holder rack to 12 bits arranged in two rows of 6 bits.  The limited rack size makes it practical to easily flex to get my fingers onto the bit I need. I can also print several of these racks to fit all my 4mm bits into, grouping the bits as required.

 

My design simply uses a round hole to hold each bit.  A round hole also limits the contact area with the bit, but still provides sufficient friction so that the bit is retained in-place.  The 12 bits rack size is very convenient to throw into my toolbox, too.

PRINTING INFORMATION

My print is made in 1.75mm Aurarum TPU Black, with 0.2mm layer height on a Bambu Lab H2D printer.

 

Both the print profile and the individual STL files are included for download.

 

NOTE:  I did try Bambu Lab TPU for AMS filament for this print, too.  Unfortunately, in my humble opinion this filament provides insufficient flex to be suitable for this design.
