LEGION – Open Water Duck Call (J-Frame Insert)

LEGION is a high-volume open-water duck call designed for a J-frame insert with cork/wedge retention. Features a tapered internal bore (16 mm → 17.6 mm) for strong top-end volume, clean breaks, and controlled rasp at distance.

Includes barrel, insert, cork/wedge files, plus single-reed cutting dimensions.

• Acetate (preferred for crisp top end)

Print Recommendations

Recommended Filaments

• PETG (best acoustic balance and durability)
• ASA (excellent for heat and field abuse)

Not Recommended

• TPU or flexible filaments (ONLY USED FOR CORK/WEDGE)
• Carbon-fiber filled filaments on tone surfaces

Suggested Settings

• Layer Height: 0.16 mm
• Walls: 4–6
• Infill: 20–30% (Gyroid)
• Orientation: Vertical (bell down)
• Supports: Not required

Assembly Notes

1. Print barrel and insert.
2. Lightly deburr the toneboard surface if needed.
3. Cut reed to provided dimensions.
4. Install reed with cork/wedge (snug, not crushed).
5. Fine-tune reed length to taste.
