Description

Boost Me (for free)

Boosts let me know you enjoy my models. Thank you!

Here is the weighted version of my 1.9 competition bead lock wheels. I designed these with the intention of creating a well polished, strong and aesthetically pleasing 3D printed bead lock wheel. The addition of un-sprung weight will further enhance your crawlers ability to overcome challenging obstacles.

  • Note - This is the revolver version of my weighted 1.9 wheels. These wheels capture the bearings from the back side of the barrel, leaving the front exposed for aesthetics. Model specific revolver face plate. Compatible with 1.9 comp OS/NOS wheel faces.

Features:

  • Ability to easily add/remove weight from wheels.
  • Accepts ½ or 12.7mm bearings/balls.  Steel > Brass > Tungsten
  • Securely captures bearings with tight tolerances
  • Deep bead lock groove to accept any 1.9 tire bead
  • Smooth inner bead lock barrels
  • Reinforced holes for strong bead clamping
  • Drainage channels on the back for use in wet/damp conditions
  • Model specific revolver face plate
  • Compatible with the 1.9 comp face plate
  • Fully rebuildable

Recommendations:

  • Plates are preset for a set of (2) wheels. Add/Delete items as needed.
  • Brim is highly recommended for the bead lock bodies. The brim has been preset so don't forget to remove the brim from the faces and rear bead lock ring before printing.
  • Textured plate is highly recommended for the bead lock bodies as smooth plates allow the model to lift and lose alignment.
  • I have tested a few hubs, vanquish, probuild, amazon, etc. I've had no issues with hub diameter clearance. However, maximum hub diameter is < 22.50mm.
  • Recommended hub length is .725 / .850 +

Bill of Materials:

  • (12) M3 x 10mm per wheel - These are for the bead lock ring and face plate
  • (6) M3 x 8mm per wheel - These are for the rear bearing capture plate
  • (6) ½ or 12.7mm bearings/balls per wheel. Steel, Brass or Tungsten.

I absolutely love these wheels. they look great and weighted perfect with brass balls. I am using injora brass hubs to add a little extra weight as well. NOTE* injora brass hubs will fit but I had to use some long screws to pull them in. They are maybe a mm bigger than the hole for the hub but will squeeze in. I used PETG so im not sure how that method will work on PLA. I had 12mm long hubs but will have to get some slightly longer for my H10 optic. The brass balls fit snug and will require them being pushed in as well.

These are sweet! I ordered some brass and stainless bearings from Amazon. Do you mind doing a set in 2.2 also?

Thank you, I appreciate the feedback. The 2.2 wheel is a great suggestion and will likely come to fruition.
