Description

This device was created to allow a person with limited dexterity to dispense one pill at a time in a chute that can be taken directly to hand or mouth. I have made similar devices for specific pills.  This one has a screw and some internal sleeves allowing it to be adjusted for different pill sizes.  Every pill is different and this works best for round pills.  To get one pill out, the screw has to be adjusted so the top of the pill in the caddy is exactly at the top.  Too high and it gets caught, too low and it allows another pill to catch. see last photo.  It will still occasionally hang up and a slight tap on the table will allow the pills to fall into the chute.  I also recommend taping the bottom to the top once you get it adjusted.  The base is designed to snap in but it can pop off.  For round pills you need the screw and the part that looks like a dish.  That sits on to screw.  You set the screw from the bottom of pill caddy and adjust the screw so the pill in the dish is exactly at the top of the caddy.   Elliptical pills can work with this system but it is even trickier as they tend to clog up.  I have looked at lot of different models but this system seems to work the best.  The extra parts for finer adjustments. You can maybe get it to work for an elliptical pill if you use a sleeve that is perfect fit and use a longer piece at the bottom in lieu of the dish.  I left those extra parts in so you could experiment.  Its not really complicated once you figure out the concept.
