Description

This is an original shortsword with Elven inspiration. Perfect for cosplay.

The text embossed on the blade is in elven. It spells the name of the weapon: “Lightbringer guardian of hope”.

No glue needed for assembly (except for the optional gems). The fitment is tight.

Slight beburing or light sanding might be needed depending on your settings.

For assembly, it's pretty straight forward.

  • Print the blade twice. AMS is prefered for more contrast on the text and on the crest but not mandatory.
  • Use the 5 lining pins and use them to press fit the two sides of the blade together. You can use glue and clamps for a super tight fit but again, this is not necessary.
  • Insert the blade in the guard
  • Inser the handle at the bottom of the guard locking the blade in place.
  • then insert the pommel at the bottom of the handle.
  • you can use glue to keep the pieces together but it shouldn't be necessary.

The layer height has been set at 0.16mm in the print profile with settings calibrated for a decent print time while allowing all the intricate details to show.

I recommend printing the various pieces in place. They have been setup for optimal quality.

*** Make sure you print bed is clean for maximal adhesion, especially when printing the guard ***

If you print this for children I'd recommend to trim the tip with filament cutters and round it off.
