Description

This is a connectable crawler tile - this tile locks into other tiles like it so that when moving betweent tiles, they do not move and shift apart.  There are other creators here with connectable tiles as well!

Some that I have liked are:  some by @StevenDH here and there are many others like a set here by @magicfilament here.

This is printed at .30 with a neat material that I tried, and I like it so far!  The material is the Rock PLA by Overture - Alpine Forest.  I really like the result, and this material has sand/grit, so works great to use for these!

The Jeep in the pictures is a 1/30th Axial SCX30 - I find this scale to be the most fun and challenging, however the SCX24 and TRX4M can also have fun on these connectable tile sets.

What size of crawler are you these meant for?

Hello! I run these primary with the 1/30th Axial SCX30 - but also with the SCX24 by Axial and the TRX4M by Traxxas. I find the 1/30th SCX30’s to be the most fun and challenging however.

Hello - I released one of those - it is here: https://makerworld.com/en/models/2182021-crawler-tile-connectable-staircase-canyon#profileId-2368430 I don't recall why I didn't release any of those others - I will take a look. Thanks!

do the plastic surfaces have enough traction to actually work?

Hello - Yes they do! I use a filament called Rock PLA - it has actual rock particulate in it - so you need a hardened extruder/nozzle - but the traction is great! Just enough to make it fun, but not so slick it's impossible. Alternatively, textured spraypaint from the hardware store - look for rock texture as an example, will provide the breakup of the smooth object to get some traction and make it fun.
