Description
Wheelbase for PXN VD or MOZA
The wheelbase was used here with a VD6 from PXN - bolt pattern 78.4x54.5mm and a MOZA variant with a bolt pattern of 78.4 x 66mm, but it should also fit other manufacturers.
The wheelbase was secured with the manufacturer's enclosed screws.
Four M4 heat inserts with matching screws are required.
The screws on the lower level must not protrude beyond the plate when tightened. It is best to use M4x8 hex socket screws. On the upper level, the clamping screws can be longer, but will then protrude beyond the plate.
A prerequisite is a Simrig with 2 parallel 40/80 profiles as a steering wheel mount.
Assembly:
Melt in heat inserts from below.
Insert the lower level into the profiles and secure with the clamping screws. Clamping screws must not protrude beyond the plate.
Attach the wheelbase to the upper level using the manufacturer's supplied screws.
Slide the upper level into the dovetail joint and tighten the clamping screws.
I printed PETG HF with 3 walls and 15% infill.
I recommend more walls and more infill, especially when using stronger wheelbases than my 6Nm PXN version.
