Description

If you are looking for chess pieces designed for playing, not just for decoration, this set is for you.

Many of today’s fantasy chess sets, while sometimes visually stunning, are generally not suitable for serious play. They are most often designed for display rather than actual use on a chessboard.

I personally own a wooden chess set of this style, which I find both elegant and perfectly suited for play. I therefore decided to recreate it so it could be 3D printed.

These pieces are inspired by those used by Bobby Fischer and Boris Spassky during their famous Match of the Century in 1972, held in Reykjavík, Iceland.

At their default scale, the pieces comply with FIDE standards and are suitable for boards with 50mm squares.

Of course, they can be scaled to fit smaller or larger chessboards.
