Description
This is a mod for the Sovol sv06 ace to swap the power supply fan and hot end cooling fan to Noctua or any other after market fan, the stock ones are just so loud.
here are the parts you'll need
40mm: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CN39MCPL
60mm: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B009NQMESS
buck converter: https://www.amazon.com/Seloky-Converter-Adjustable-Electronic-Stabilizer/dp/B0DBVYP91F?nsdOptOutParam=true&s=industrial&sr=1-4
screws: https://www.amazon.com/VGBUY-600pcs-Assortment-Printer-Stainless/dp/B0D1XJ766V?s=industrial&sr=1-5
here are some tools you'll need
wire stripper: https://www.amazon.com/WGGE-Professional-crimping-Multi-Tool-Multi-Function/dp/B073YG65N2?s=industrial&sr=1-5
soldering iron kit: https://www.amazon.com/Soldering-Digital-Welding-Portable-Electric/dp/B08R3515SF?s=industrial&sr=1-5 " or use these https://www.amazon.com/Kuject-Connectors-Waterproof-Electrical-Automotive/dp/B073RMRCC3?sr=8-3:
heat shrink: https://www.amazon.com/Ginsco-580-pcs-Assorted-Sleeving/dp/B01MFA3OFA?sr=8-3
multi meter: https://www.amazon.com/AstroAI-Digital-Multimeter-Voltage-Tester/dp/B01ISAMUA6?sr=8-6
you will only need the buck converter for the 60mm fan since the 40mm fan is already 24 volts, the stock hot end fan uses a 4 wire pwm, if you look at the hub of the stock fan under the sticker it will tell you which wires are which, once you know that you can splice the Noctua fan in its place. you will need 4 m3 screws from the screw kit which will screw in to the shroud, also place a little strip of double sided tape on the bottom face of the shroud while installing it, you will only need two of the original screws to secure it in the back, the tape will hold the front down. the fan shroud is a press fit that will be tight.
in the power supply cover there is space next to the the fan for the buck converter, id suggest using double sided tape to hold it in place. this fan will only need two wires cut the connecter and wire off the stock fan and run it to the buck converter and do the same with the Noctua fan. you'll need 8 screws to secure the power supply assembly together, these 8 fans come with the 60mm fan and the 40mm fan. Make sure to adjust the buck converter to output 12 volts use the multi meter to measure it.
also included is a cable guide for for the X axis so the cable doesn't sag, you'll need zip ties, unscrew the rear cable screw from the toolhead side of the cable, place the guide and then screw it down using the original screw and mounting point, then use zip ties the rest of the way, I suggest cutting the guide at the half way point of it doesn't need to go all the way back and its originally meant for the plus model not the standard .
