Print Profile(1)

Description
The Icue is a bronze sculpture by Manuel Ardil Pagán, displayed at Puerta de Murcia in the Spanish city of Cartagena (Region of Murcia), at the junction with Sagasta, Carmen, and Santa Florentina streets, opposite the Palacio Pedreño.
The work depicts an icue, the popular name given to the children who used to wander around the port, holding a boquerón (aladroque in local slang) from which a jet of water flows. The sculpture was inaugurated on May 22, 1969, during the mayoralty of Ginés Huertas Celdrán.
