Description
The 710 series locomotive (originally the T 334.0 series) is a diesel locomotive with hydrodynamic power transmission, designed for light shunting and light line service in freight transport. It was produced by the Prague company ČKD (the Sokolovo plant in Prague Liben, from locomotives T334.0534 and T334.0038 the Tatra Smíchov plant until 1966). Production then continued in Slovakia at SMZ Dubnica and TS Martin. 99 machines were delivered to ČSD, including TSS, and several hundred more were produced for siding operations in companies and for export to the GDR, Hungary, India and Romania. They were produced in the years 1961–1973.
