Description

⚠️ IMPORTANT — SCALE SIZE LIMIT (READ FIRST)

This AeroBox version only works with scales up to 153 mm × 131 mm × 27 mm (e.g. Timemore Basic / Basic 2). If your scale is larger, this version won’t fit / won’t work properly.

More AeroBox versions for more scale sizes are comingsign up on our site to get notified.

AeroBox — Measure Your AeroPress Press (Grams Out + Flow Rate)

AeroBox is a 3D-printable AeroPress press stand that helps you control the press phase with numbers, not guesswork.

Most recipes say things like “press gently” and “stop at the hiss.” AeroBox + a compatible scale lets you press with two clear targets:

  • Grams out = how many grams of brewed coffee you actually press into the cup
  • Flow rate (g/s) = how fast those grams come out while you press

This makes it much easier to repeat brews—especially if you like stopping the press before the hiss for a cleaner cup.

Competition context

This is the first prototype used by Jan Ahrend (Switzerland) at the 2025 World AeroPress Championship (WAC), earning 2nd place.

Quick start (beginner-friendly)

  1. Put your cup on the scale and tare it
  2. Place AeroBox over/around the scale + cup
  3. Set your AeroPress on AeroBox
  4. Press while watching the scale:

    • stop at your target grams out
    • keep a steady flow rate (g/s) if your scale shows it

Printing notes

  • PLA is tough enough
  • Needs to be printed with supports
  • Minimum of 10% infill and 2 top/bottom layers (ideally 3 layers)
  • Jan printed at 9% infill, 2 layer lines and with the 0.6mm nozzle at WAC
