Description
A tensegrity structure (from "tensional integrity") is a self-stabilizing system that uses isolated, compressed components (struts) within a continuous tension network (cables), creating light and strong structures where compression and tension balance each other. These systems appear to float, as the tension in the cables supports the compressed rods, making them strong and resilient, like bones (compression) within muscles (tension) in the human body
