Description

This is a minimalist, ultra-slim case for the ESP32 CYD (ESP32-2432S028R), designed for both 2.4” and 2.8” touchscreen variants.
The goal of this design was to create the thinnest, cleanest enclosure possible, making the display easy to use around the house for dashboards, controls, sensors, and other ESP32 projects.

The case is designed from scratch. While inspired by existing CYD enclosures, none of the available options were as thin, simple, or unobtrusive as I wanted—so this one was built specifically to prioritise minimal thickness, clean lines, and fast printing.

Key Features

  • ✅ Fits ESP32 CYD (ESP32-2432S028R)
  • ✅ Versions for 2.4” and 2.8” screens
  • Ultra-slim & minimalist design
  • Fast print using very little filament
  • ✅ Secure assembly with 4 × M3×8 screws
  • ✅ Integrated rear buttons for BOOT and RESET
  • ✅ Open side access for connectors
  • ✅ Designed for everyday use around the home

Screen & Connector Compatibility

  • The 2.8” version was designed for the variant with both USB-C and Micro-USB connectors (dual-USB version).
  • Due to variations between CYD boards on the market, tolerances are intentionally tight.
These cases fit my devices perfectly, but may not fit every CYD revision available.

Printing Notes

  • The top cover can be printed without supports — minor imperfections around the screw holes will be hidden by the screws.
  • A support-enabled profile is included for users who want a cleaner finish.
  • Tight tolerances mean accurate printing is important:
    • Well-calibrated printer recommended
    • PLA or PETG both work well

Assembly

  • 4 × M3×8 mm screws hold the case together
  • No glue required
  • Embedded rear buttons are part of the design and print
