Description

Hello and thank you for stopping by to check out the Cube-Tube calibration part. 

 

I wanted to test the fitment between different color PLA as color pigment might affect the thermal prop of the filament. I made this to interchange between different color PLA. I chose 0.05 mm offset.

 

I also marked X, Y and Z in each part to test fitment between two different axes within the parts.

 

This model combines both, a cube half and a tube half, a 20 x 20 mm overall. 

Inside the cube section, there is a 10 x 10 mm square through cut (10 mm height)

Inside the tube section, there is a 10 mm circular through cut (10 mm height)

 

I also have two sleeves for each section with outer CAD dimension of 30x30 mm and 30mm diameter. The important part is that the surface offset is set to be 0.05 mm taking away from the sleeves. 

 

Finally, I have two end caps for each section outer CAD dimension of 30x30 mm and 30mm diameter. Each cap has a post matching the through cut in the calibration cube-tube. The important part is that the surface offsets are also set to be 0.05 mm taking away from the posts. 

 

Used default .4 mm nozzle and .2mm layer height with 15% infill.

I changes two setting, 

First, I made the Seam Position to Random as this help with measurements. 

Second, infill type made it adaptive cube.
