Description
This set includes separate models of fully colored figure of Tomas Bata and the headquarters building of Bata company, one of his key buildings in the city of Zlin. It also comes with a display base for both items.
Tomáš Baťa (1876–1932) was a Czech entrepreneur, the founder of the Baťa shoe company, and one of the most important industrialists of his time. He significantly influenced the development of Zlín, where he promoted modern urban planning, social programs for employees, and innovative management methods.
The Baťa Skyscraper at 21 Tomáše Bati Avenue in Zlín (Building No. 21) was completed in 1938 as the company’s administrative headquarters. At 77.5 meters, it was the tallest building in Czechoslovakia at the time and became a symbol of technological progress, functionalist architecture, and modern corporate management, including the famous moving office inside an elevator.
The building was designed by architect Vladimír Karfík, an important representative of Czech functionalism and a long-term collaborator of the Baťa company, who also helped shape the overall architectural character of Zlín.
