Temple Tea Light - Spokane
Print Profile(1)

Description
Description
This is a simple tea light / lithophane based on one of the temples STLs from hlyman's 197 LDS Temples. Works great as a commemorative gift.
License
The original work was share under a creative commons NON-COMMERCIAL license, which I fully support. I have shared this remix with the same license.
Material
I print mine in BambuLabs White PETG because I prefer that white to the options available in PLA. That said, this might print with better detail in PLA. Either way the model is thin enough that light should shine through the top and create the intended effect.
Clean up
Assembly of these lights is USUALLY pretty simple but the Spokane model is VERY flat and includes a TON of supports. Some notes:
- I recommend using pliers to remove the support “forest” else you risk cutting your fingers up.
- The very tip of the spire is tall and thin and tends to wobble during printing, resulting in a blob at the top. Be prepared to shape this with an exacto knife
- I set the brims VERY close to the actual model to help with warping at the corners for those of us using the A1 series. You may need an exacto knife for those as well.
Assembly
Flex the base slightly to get the tea light into the tealight-shaped hole. It should rest on the lower lip. Feel free to modify the file and extend that lip if you have exceptionally small tea lights to account for. I recommend hot-gluing the tea light into place as a pressure fit just isn't good enough if someone is going to be switching the light on and off or changing the battery.
The temple part of the tea light should snap on with just a little pressure or flexing of the base. I don't recommend gluing as that fit is tight enough for typical use and it leaves the option open to remove the top to replace the light if needed.
I enjoy designing but I am fully aware that my models could be improved. If you have trouble with this or any of my designs, please include feedback with your ratings so I know what to work on. If you really like this design and want to see more like it, please reach out and let me know what you'd like to see! I love reading comments!
