Description

Build your ultimate clay and pottery workstation!

This model is the foundation of the Pottery Helper System—a modular set of tools designed to assist potters and clay makers with centering, shaping, and glazing.

🔗 Designed for the System: While this turntable is a fantastic tool on its own, it is specifically engineered to work seamlessly with these add-ons (sold/downloaded separately):

  • Rim Cones: For perfect centering of your pieces: https://makerworld.com/en/models/2164673-pottery-rim-cones-cone-molds-system-add-on#profileId-2347126
  • Bowl Template: For consistent shaping and profiles:  https://makerworld.com/en/models/2164729-pottery-bowl-template-cutter-system-add-on#profileId-2347194
  • Straight Tumblers; For making mug, tumblers and other stuff with straight interior. https://makerworld.com/en/models/2164640-modular-pottery-system-turntable-base#profileId-2347095

📦 About This Model (The Base): This download contains the core workstation. It features a universal Top Plate that fits onto two different base options, giving you full control over your workflow:

  1. Base Variant A (Rotating): Allows the plate to spin freely. Essential for banding, painting, glazing, or viewing your sculpture from every angle without handling the clay.
  2. Base Variant B (Static): Locks the plate in a fixed position. Perfect for the initial setup, heavy sculpting, or when you need a completely stable surface.

✨ Why use this system?

  • Versatile: Switch instantly between a spinning turntable and a stationary work surface.
  • Expandable: The plate is ready to accept the Rim Cones and Templates mentioned above.
  • Stable: Designed with a wide footprint to keep your pottery secure while you work.

Happy Making! Don't forget to check the links above to complete your set.

how does this attach to the wheel head? it doesn’t look big enough to fit the wheel pins

Unfortunately, this isn't designed for bat pins; it attaches with clay instead. In other words, you center it using the rings on the wheel head and then secure it with a few wads of clay (I usually use three).I might eventually design a version that fits standard bat pins, but the reason I made this one universal is that the two wheels I use have different pin spacing.

Thanks for the models! Great work! I'm new to 3D printing and I'm having issues with the tolerance. It's very hard to fit the base in the mold and almost impossible to remove it. Should I sand it? Any other tips? I'm using PLA in a Bambu lab a1. Thanks!
