Work Description – 3D Printed Bit Organizer Box
This work presents the development and manufacturing of a screwdriver bit organizer box, designed to be produced through additive manufacturing (3D printing / 3D printing). The project's objective is to create a functional, modular, and compact organizer, intended for organizing, storing, and transporting bits, tips, drills, and other accessories used with power and hand tools.
The developed model has 45 individual compartments (slots / holders / sockets) intended for standard bits, allowing quick visual identification, precise fitting, and easy removal, contributing to greater efficiency in daily use. The structure also features a protective lid (lid / cover), whose function is to protect components against loss, dust, and possible mechanical damage during storage or transport.
In addition to the specific bit slots, the box incorporates multifunctional free spaces, designed to accommodate drills, extensions, adapters, small sockets, wrenches, various accessories, or loose parts, significantly expanding its versatility. This configuration makes the product suitable for use in mechanical workshops, laboratories, educational environments, makerspaces, industrial maintenance sectors, carpentry, and home use, serving different user profiles.
The project was developed considering its manufacturing by 3D printing in materials such as PLA, PETG, or ABS, and can be adapted according to mechanical, thermal, or chemical resistance needs. Aspects such as ease of printing, material optimization, structural robustness, and the possibility of customization according to the desired application were considered.
As a result, a functional, reusable, customizable, and low-cost product is obtained, which highlights the potential of 3D printing as a tool for rapid prototyping, technical organization, and the development of practical solutions applicable to professional and educational daily life.
Finally, the IPT (Autodesk Inventor) project files were made available, allowing the model to be edited, adapted, or enhanced, according to specific needs for sizing, layout, or future application.
