Description
Bring the ocean to your desktop with this Magnetic Manta Ray — a clean, modern 3D-printable model designed with magnet-assisted assembly. The body and wing segments connect neatly using embedded magnets, making it satisfying to build, easy to disassemble, and perfect for display photography.
This is the magnetic assembly version, which requires installing magnets during assembly.
Bill of Materials (BOM)
- Round magnets: 10 × 2 mm (Ø10mm × 2mm) × 20 pcs
- CA glue / super glue (optional but recommended for a secure hold)

Assembly Notes (Important)
- Print all parts, remove supports, and test-fit every joint first.
- Insert 10×2 mm magnets into the magnet holes (20 holes total).
- Polarity matters (do this before gluing):
- Stack all magnets together. Pick one face as Side A and mark it with a pen.
- For each connection pair, ensure the magnets are installed with opposite polarity so parts attract (not repel).
- Dry-test each pair before adding glue.
- Once polarity is confirmed, secure magnets with a tiny drop of CA glue (or press-fit if tight enough).
- Assemble the wings and body — magnets will help everything snap into alignment.
Safety note: Magnets are small parts. Keep away from children and pets.
Printing Suggestions
- Recommended material: PLA / PLA+
- Layer height: 0.16–0.20 mm for clean surface detail
- For stronger magnet seats: increase wall count and add a bit more infill around magnet areas
