Description
Floating Wall Mount for UniFi Cloud Gateway Fiber
This is a floating wall mount designed specifically for the Ubiquiti UniFi Cloud Gateway Fiber, giving you a clean, minimal wall installation without visible brackets or shelves.
Key Features
Magnetic mounting system
The mount uses 10 × 10 mm magnets to securely hold the Cloud Gateway Fiber in place. Due to the support lip built into the design, very strong magnets are not required.
Bottom stacking / support lip
The very small lip at the bottom of the mount serves two important purposes:
- Reduced magnet load – The device rests on the lip, so the magnets mainly keep it in position rather than carrying the full weight.
- Easy horizontal alignment – The Cloud Gateway Fiber naturally sits straight on the lip, making alignment quick and repeatable.
Prevents drifting and crooked mounting
This design was created to solve a common issue with magnetic mounts: over time, Ethernet cable tension can cause the device to rotate or shift. The bottom lip prevents this movement and keeps the device level long-term.
Notes
- Magnets are required (10 pieces of 10 mm round magnets), but exact strength is not critical due to the support lip - But i recommend getting the strongest you can get in this size, due to small magnet size.
The magnet hole is 5mm deep, so you can stack multiple magnets inside the hole. I used 20 pieces of 10x2mm magnets
- Designed for a clean, floating look with easy installation and reliable alignment.
- The stacking lip might conflict with some SFP-adapters, but i only had one example to test with.
