Description

The ARC Series is a free digital asset pack from FORMISM, featuring three footwear models engineered strictly to industrial-grade standards.

This official collaboration between FORMISM and Bambu Lab leverages peak digital capabilities to ensure that high-end footwear—boasting production-grade wearability and sophisticated design—can be realized within a personal manufacturing environment. We are committed to continuously evolving and perfecting a comprehensive FDM-based framework for personal footwear manufacturing.

At its core, our design logic breaks away from the traditional footwear industry's reliance on bonding multiple composite materials. Through precise multi-layer zoning, differentiated structures, and optimized toolpath design, we have achieved advanced "monolithic molding with multi-density performance."

Users enjoy complete aesthetic autonomy over material and color. Whether you prefer a minimalist monochrome look or a high-tension, bold color-clashing scheme, you have the freedom to customize your prints to match any personal style or outfit scenario.

File Information

  • This model features a zoned-modular design. We encourage users to utilize multi-extruder or multi-material switching systems to assign filaments of various colors or properties to specific components—such as the sole, upper, and connectors—enabling a wide range of highly personalized colorways and material combinations.

  • The midsole features an integrated zonal design. Users can calibrate the cushioning and softness of the sole by fine-tuning the infill density of the model.

Sizing & Fit

  • The footwear models are integrated with a brand-new parametric sizing system. This allows you to flexibly select the size according to your individual needs, ensuring a high-precision fit for the final printed product. We recommend sizing up by one size to prevent an undersized fit and to accommodate potential insoles.

Material Selection

  • Footwear Body:
    • Bambu Lab TPU 90A
    • Bambu Lab TPU 85A
    • Foam TPU
  • Support:
    • PLA Basic / PETG Basic (NO PLA Silk)

  • TPU is a flexible filament. Due to its high hygroscopicity and physical elasticity, it is significantly more challenging to print than standard rigid materials like PLA. Improper handling can easily lead to extruder clogging, severe stringing, or total print failure.

  • Since PLA and TPU do not adhere to each other, utilizing PLA as the support interface allows for effortless removal of the support structures, resulting in a significantly smoother and cleaner print surface.

Printing & Technical Guidelines

  • Before printing, please ensure you have thoroughly read the "Bambu Lab Official TPU Printing Guide" and strictly adhere to the following requirements:

    • NO AMS: TPU is too flexible for the AMS automatic feeding system. You must use the rear spool holder for manual loading.

    • MANDATORY DRYING: Filaments must be dried at 55°C for at least 6 hours before use. Undried TPU will cause bubbles and significant loss of structural integrity.

    • FLOW CONTROL: Flexible materials are highly sensitive to extrusion pressure. Please strictly follow the speed limits in the official slicer presets—do not increase print speeds arbitrarily.

Q&A Update

  • The model is best suited for H Series or other dual-extruder printers, as using a different material for supports makes removal significantly easier. For single-extruder devices (such as the X, P, and A Series), you must use TPU for supports. While it is possible to print, please note that supports will be much harder to remove, and the surface quality of the supported areas will decrease.

  • For support materials, you can use PLA Basic or PETG Basic. Do NOT use PLA Silk, as it bonds too strongly to the model, making support removal extremely difficult.

  • We recommend using 90A TPU or 85A TPU. We do not recommend using harder materials (such as 95A TPU or higher), as the model will become too stiff, negatively affecting the wearing comfort.
