Capture the fleeting moment of a water splash in a permanent, artistic form. This unique sculpture, printed in black PLA, freezes a dynamic droplet in mid-air, creating a striking piece of decor for your desk, shelf, or display cabinet.
Description
This 3D printed model is a stylized representation of a water drop splashing upwards. The fluid, organic curves and rising plume capture the energy of liquid in motion, rendered in a solid, durable form. Printed here in black PLA, it has a sleek, modern aesthetic, but it would also look stunning in transparent blue, silver, or white filament to emphasize the water theme.
Print Settings
- Printer: [Your Printer Name] (e.g., Bambu Lab P1P, Ender 3)
- Material: PLA
- Nozzle Size: 0.4 mm
- Layer Height: 0.12 mm - 0.2 mm (Lower layer height is recommended for smoother curves)
- Infill: 10% - 15% (Gyroid or Grid)
- Supports: Yes. Due to the overhangs in the splashing base and the rising plume, supports are necessary. Tree supports are highly recommended for easier removal and better surface finish.
- Brim/Raft: A brim is recommended to ensure good bed adhesion for the base.
Post-Processing
Carefully remove the supports, especially around the delicate upper section. A quick sanding or a brief pass with a heat gun can help smooth out any remaining support marks or layer lines.
