Description
Flux: Parametric Urban Bench | Support-Free Architectural Model
Summary This is a 3D printable scale model of a parametric urban furniture concept. The design features a rhythmic, ribbed structure that creates a fluid "S" shape. It is designed to be printed without supports and is completely scalable.
Design Logic & Scalability Designed digitally using Rhinoceros 3D and Grasshopper. The geometry is strictly parametric and based on real-world construction proportions:
- The rib thickness and spacing were calculated based on 18mm MDF boards.
- This makes the model fully scalable. Whether you print it as a small desktop miniature or a large centerpiece, the structural ratios remain consistent with the original architectural intent.
Printing Settings
- Supports: None required. The geometry is self-supporting with safe overhang angles.
- Material: PLA, PETG, or Matte PLA (recommended for an architectural look).
- Infill: 10% - 15% (Gyroid).
- Adhesion: Ensure good bed adhesion as the footprint is long and curved. A brim is optional but helpful if you scale it down significantly.
Usage Perfect as an architectural prop, a study in parametric continuity, or a modern sculpture for your workspace.
